I sit upon this stoop, and wait for you.
I am alone most days, and I am always patient.
Everyday, you come home, and you spend just enough time with me.
I love you for that.
I'm so happy when you shower me in love, and presents, and attention.
It makes me feel good.
And I know you give me pet names, but I like my original name.
It has special meaning and it makes me feel whole.
It gives me purpose.
As far as compliments, cute, adorable, and sweet are okay, I guess.
After all, I am just a dog.
