So I've had this in mind for a while since I found out a few weeks ago that I'm actually not all that bad at writing samurai death haiku... can you guys spot the motif here? Brownie points if you can. [:
a plum blossom falls
we know not where it will land
does time stop for it?
to see the world
in black and white ideals
to live in one so grey
I am wreathed in flame
body one with the elements
my heart lies centered
a boat launches
a coward runs from his past
no happy endings
coin, ink and parchment
words exit, shochu enters
I know no fear
my blood, or an oni’s?
beauty with deadly intent
steel is my companion
they think me a bafoon
but I do not make mistakes
an arrow strikes true
slice, strangle, yelling
pride, pomp, bloodlust, I am here
they will respect me
a plum blossom lands
but we did not look for it

Edit:I switched out the second verse for a more appropriate one. The old one is thus:
like heavy rainfall
my mind constantly churns
will I find an answer?
